We’re expected to find out today whether the NFL season will begin on time. The league’s owners will meet in Atlanta – and vice president Jeff Pash said the NFL’s labor panel met for five hours yesterday to go over a proposed new collective bargaining agreement with the players. The players have not scheduled a vote, but Pash says the owners could go ahead and ratify it anyway. He said the plan was to have both sides vote on the deal today. Pash said he was cautiously optimistic it would happen.
Bobby Lea of Mertztown Pennsylvania won his third consecutive race yesterday in the International Cycling Classic. Feng Chun-Kai of Taiwan took second at the Humboldt Park-Bay View Rumble in Milwaukee. Andrew Crater of Milwaukee finished ninth, and Cole House of Oneida was 15th. Feng Chun-Kai has the yellow jacket as the overall leader in the Super-week top men’s pro series. House is now 15th in the standings, and Crater is 16th. Super-week continues today with the Brewers’ Hill Challenge in Milwaukee.
