LA CROSSE - Recall organizers in state Senator Dan Kapanke’s district were the very first to turn in recall signatures, about a month before they were due. Evidently, the efforts are bringing results.
Kapanke is a Republican from La Crosse. As the recall elections get closer, he is falling farther being his challenger, Democratic State Representative Jennifer Shilling. The latest numbers show the incumbent trailing by 14 points.
Kapanke reportedly made a sarcastic remark at the Republican Party meeting recently – saying Republicans better hope public employees are sleeping on recall election day.
