After graduating high school, Todd farmed, attended Red Wing Vo-Tech taking agricultural classes, worked many years for the Tile Shop, served as an EMT for the Ellsworth Ambulance Service, and finished his working career as a jailer dispatcher at the Pierce County Sheriff's Department, graduating from the law enforcement academy in 2002.
