MANKATO, Minn. -- The Minnesota Vikings full roster will take the field in Mankato this (Thurs) afternoon for the first full-contact practice of training camp. The workout was scheduled for 9 a.m today but has been moved to 3 to 5:30 p.m.
The team will hold a walk-through this morning. Vikings offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave says they've whittled down the volume of the offense with only a short time for the players to learn it. He says the team is excited to have Donovan McNabb as the starting quarterback.
McNabb and the other newly-signed players had to sit out until the new league year officially begins today. Adrian Peterson is expected to return to camp Friday following the birth of a baby boy.

Minnesota Vikings owner Zygi Wilf remains hopeful that there will be a special legislative session this fall to consider a stadium bill for his team. Wilf spoke briefly at training camp in Mankato on Wednesday. He said the team is still working on its one-billion-dollar plan for a new stadium in Arden Hills, and is very confident they'll have something worked out in the near future. The Vikings' lease at the Metrodome ends following the 2011 season.
