U grids began fall camp with new coach Kill
Minnesota Sports-- The University of Minnesota football team opened its fall camp with an afternoon practice Monday at the team's on-campus practice facility.
MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota football team opened its fall camp with an afternoon practice Monday at the team's on-campus practice facility.
First year head coach Jerry Kill is opening the first ten practices of fall camp up to the public. The Gophers are set to hold one practice per day for the first week before moving to a two-a-day routine for much of week two.
Minnesota opens the regular season on September 3rd against Southern California in Los Angeles.
Three hosts from the Big Ten Network are scheduled to visit today's University of Minnesota football practice. Dave Revsine, Gerry DiNardo, and Howard Griffith will attend this afternoon's Golden Gopher workout and then produce a program on the practice that will air on August 15th on the national cable television station. This is part of a preseason series of shows featuring each of the 12 teams in the Big Ten.
Prescott's Jake Filkins is beginning his sophomore season as a long snapper for the Golden Gophers.
