Minnesota Sports-- The University of Minnesota volleyball team is ranked No. 12 in the year's first national coaches poll.
MINNEAPOLIS -- The University of Minnesota volleyball team is ranked No. 12 in the year's first national coaches poll.
The Golden Gophers have now been ranked for 49 consecutive weeks. The new-look Gophers enter the 2011 season with a new head coach.
Laura Bush is the interim head coach, filling in for newly-hired Hugh McCutheon. McCutheon will start his coaching duties next fall as he is leading the women's USA national team into the 2012 Olympics. Former coach Mike Hebert retired at the end of last season. Penn State is the No. 1 team in the poll.
