STILLWATER - Opponents of plans for a new 150-foot cell phone tower say it will spoil scenic views of the St. Croix River Valley.

The township approve plans for the pole earlier this month. The Washington County Planning Advisory Commission has scheduled a public hearing for Tuesday. Then, the county Board of Adjustments and Appeals will consider it Thursday.

AT&T officials have indicated a willingness to design a tower that would blend into the background. Any further appeals after the planning commission considers the tower could wind up in district court.
