Sunday State Sports Briefs: Packers finalize their roster, make final cuts
Wisconsin Sports-- The Green Bay Packers cut 23 players Saturday to get down to the league-mandated 53-man roster limit.
GREEN BAY - The Green Bay Packers cut 23 players Saturday to get down to the league-mandated 53-man roster limit.
Among those let go was third-string quarterback Graham Harrell. Fullback Quinn Johnson and guard Caleb Schlauderaff were traded for draft picks. Harrell may be put on the team's practice squad. Seven of the 10 draft picks made the 53-man cut down. Other players cut Saturday were wide receivers Diondre Borel, Tori Gurley, Kerry Taylor and Chastin West; safeties Anthony Bratton, Anthony Levine and Brandon Underwood; offensive linemen Chris Campbell and Ray Dominguez; nose tackles Chris Donaldson and Jay Ross; linebackers Ricky Elmore, Cardia Jackson and Elijah Joseph; center Sampson Genus; cornerbacks Josh Gordy and Brandian Ross; fullback Jon Hoese; defensive end Eli Joseph; center/guard Nick McDonald; and running backs Dimitri Nance and Brandon Saine.
