MILWAUKEE - The Philadelphia Phillies ran their winning streak to five in a row with a 5-3 victory at Milwaukee Friday night.

Roy Halladay dominated Brewer hitters, allowing four hits eight solid innings, running his record to 17-5. The Brewers magic number remained at 11 because St. Louis won. It was the fourth straight loss for Milwaukee, cut the team's lead to seven games in the National League Central Division.

Shawn Marcum took the loss, giving up a first-inning home run to National League RBI leader Ryan Howard. The big Phillie first baseman has driven home 108. The Phillies saw most of their five-run lead evaporate late, but closer Ryan Madson closed the door for his 29th save.
