(Minneapolis, MN) -- The Minnesota Timberwolves have their new head coach. The T'wolves have agreed in principle to a deal with Rick Adelman to lead their young core.
The 65-year-old left the Houston Rockets in April and has also coached the Trail Blazers, Kings and Warriors in his 20-year career. Adelman has just two losing years in 18 full seasons on the bench.
Coincidentally, Timberwolves star forward Kevin Love played on the same high school team as Adelman's son.

It looks more and more like the start of the NBA season will be compromised. Labor talks broke down Tuesday without progress and no new talks are scheduled. The players' latest proposal offered to give back more in exchange for keeping the current flexible salary cap, but owners want a hard cap. Union chief Billy Hunter told reporters the players have been advised they may have to sit out half the season before a deal gets done. The NBA locked out the players July 1st after the collective bargaining agreement expired. Training camps are slated to open October 3rd, with the start of the regular season November 1st.
