MINNEAPOLIS -- The WNBA Minnesota Lynx have secured the No. 1 seed in the postseason and will begin their playoff season with a home game against San Antonio on Friday night at Target Center.

Minnesota forward Rebekkah Brunson says the team is hoping for a large crowd for the game. She says the fans have been great all season long and that a large, vocal audience could make a difference in the game.

Tip-off on Friday is 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale at the Lynx webpage and can be purchased for as little as ten-dollars apiece.

Hutchinson native Lindsay Whalen led the WNBA in assists this season, handing out a franchise-record 5.9 helpers per game. That has earned the former University of Minnesota star the "Peak Performer" Award, which is given each year to the league's top performers in points, rebounds, and assists. Whalen will receive a trophy from the WNBA.
