Game 2 rally highlights Ellsworth win

Ellsworth High School's volleyball team won in straight sets Thursday in its Middle Border Conference opener, which included a dramatic comeback in the second set against Amery.

AMERY - Ellsworth High School's volleyball team won 3-0 Thursday in its Middle Border Conference opener, which included a dramatic comeback in Game 2 against Amery.

The Panthers, 12-10 overall and 1-0 in the Middle Border Conference, won 25-19, 28-26, 25-12 and rallied from a 20-10 deficit in Game 2 to pull off the victory.

ā€œI’m extremely proud we fought back,ā€ Ellsworth head coach Tanya Powers said.

Panthers senior Abbey Ristow led the team with 18 kills while senior Jessy Tingelhoff and sophomore Olivia Helmer each had five.

Tingelhoff also had 18 assists and Helmer added 10.

Junior Morgan Christopherson added four ace serves for Ellsworth, which faces Somerset Tuesday in Ellsworth.
