County announces three finalists for AC position

It’s down to three for the vacant Pierce County Administrative Coordinator position.

The Finance and Personnel committee selected the three finalists Wednesday from a pool of nine semifinalists.

The three are: Tony Chladek, former City Administrator for the City of Merrill, Wis.,; Randy Eide, Director of Public Works for Menomonie; and, JoAnn Miller, former Village Administrator for the Village of DeForest, Wis.

Chladek was city administrator for Merrill from April 2006 through April of this year. He was previously city administrator for Stewartville, Minn., from 2002-2005. He also has military experience, serving nine years in the Army from 1986-1995.

Eide has worked for the City of Menomonie since 2004. Prior to that, he spent over 20 years serving in the Air Force, including being Squadron Commander, Environmental Program Manager and Facility Program Manager and Housing Chief at Langley Air Force Base.

Miller spent six years as administrator in DeForest from 2003-2009. Formerly, she was a city administrator in Iowa for six years. Miller started out her working career as an administrative assistant for the U.S. Office of Education in Washington from 1976-1977.

The trio will have their final interviews Oct. 6, with the committee’s recommendation for a candidate by the Oct. 25 County Board meeting.

Pierce County has been without an Administrative Coordinator since 2008 when Curt Kephart resigned. Paul Barkla, County Board Chairman, has been acting as interim since.
