MILWAUKEE - Ryan Braun's three-run home run in the eighth inning powered the Milwaukee Brewers into the post-season for the second time in four years.

Braun's blast broke a 1-1 tie and gave Milwaukee a 4-1 win over the Florida Marlins. When the Chicago Cubs wrapped up a 5-1 win over St. Louis 20 minutes later, the Brewers officially had won the National League Central Division title.

Brewers starter Yovani Gallardo pitched into the eighth inning before being relieved by Francisco Rodriguez. Braun's 32nd home run of the season made Rodriguez the winner. Then, John Axford slammed the door for his 44th save.

The Brewers' home record is a major league best 53-23, one win away from the franchise record for wins at home. Prince Fielder accounted for the other Milwaukee run with his 36th home run.
