Spring Valley spikers top Elmwood, PC sweeps SCC

Spring Valley High School's volleyball won back-to-back matches with a 3-0 sweep over Elmwood Thursday evening.

ELMWOOD - Spring Valley High School's volleyball team won its third straight match with a 3-0 sweep over Elmwood Thursday evening.

Spring Valley won all three games 25-17, 25-17 and 25-16. The Cardinals were in control in the first two games and rallied from a 7-3 deficit in Game 3.

Sarah Ostertag led the Cardinals in kills 11 while teammate Brooke Jacobson had 10. Tana O'Keefe had 20 assists and two aces and Riley Harrison had 13 digs.

Also in eastern Pierce County, the Plum City volleyball team defeated St. Croix Central in three sets Thursday at Plum City 25-20, 25-7, 25-23.

Morgan Sweeney led the Blue Devils with 20 assists and three aces. Marah Boyer contributed 14 kills, 10 digs and three aces, while Heather Von Holtum added seven kills and three blocks.

Plum City plays again Tuesday at Boyceville. Spring Valley is at home against St. Croix Central and Elmwood is at home against Glenwood City.
