MINNEAPOLIS -- Rebekkah Brunson scored a playoff career-high 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Minnesota Lynx took an 88-74 victory over the Atlanta Dream in the opening game of the WNBA Finals on Sunday at the Target Center
Brunson shot 10-of-15 from the floor to push the Lynx to the Game One win in the best-of-five series. Seimone Augustus scored 22 points with seven assists, while Hutchinson's Lindsay Whalen posted 15 points. Atlanta had a 12-point first half lead before Minnesota trimmed it to 39-36 at half. The teams were tied at 62 apiece heading into the fourth quarter. The Lynx scored the first 13 points of the frame and never looked back.
The Lynx announced the crowd as 15,258, the second largest crowd in franchise history. Game Two is Wednesday night in the Twin Cities.
