Olympic gymnastics champion Paul Hamm of Waukesha has pleaded innocent to three charges connected with an alleged drunken dispute with a cab driver. Hamm told police he had eight drinks last month before entering a cab in downtown Columbus, Ohio. And by the time he got to his suburban home, police said Hamm had refused to pay his 23-dollar fare – damaged a window on the vehicle – and kicked the driver. Police later found him lying outside his house. Hamm, the 2004 Olympic all-around champion, is charged with assault and two other counts. At the time of the incident, he was an assistant gymnastics coach at Ohio State – where he was training for an Olympic comeback in 2012. He lost his post with the Buckeyes after his arrest.
