Vikings stadium plan avoids referendum
Minnesota News-- The plan for a new Vikings stadium in Ramsey County won't be going to voters for approval.
ST. PAUL - The plan for a new Vikings stadium in Ramsey County won't be going to voters for approval.
The county's charter commission says financing the project through a sales tax would compromise the area's ability to pay for other projects. Last night's move could clear a hurdle for supporters of the stadium being considered in Arden Hills at a former Army ammunition site.
However, a peek into the highly anticipated report to be released later this morning, identifies almost $40-million dollars in unfunded costs for the one-billion-dollar project.
