MADISON - The Danielson family of Osceola now has an eighth state individual golf title to their collection as Casey Danielson won her third straight Division 2 individual title Tuesday at the WIAA State Girls Golf Meet at University Ridge Golf Course.
Danielson shot a two-under-par 142 in the two-day meet. Her sister Lindsay won four straight state titles from 2005-08 and now Casey has the '09, '10 and '11 titles. Lindsay is currently a golfer with the University of Wisconsin. Of course, during this all this time the Danielsons have and extensive collection of Middle Border Conference, regional and sectional medals as well.
And don't forget brother Charlie Danielson as he won the state individual championship in Division 2 back in 2010.
Lexi Greytak of Madison Edgewood finished a distant second at 155. But Edgewood returned to championship form in Division 2 as the Crusaders won their 10th team title in 11 years after finishing second last fall. Edgewood won the crown by 45 strokes over defending champion Racine Prairie. Osceola took third.
