Wisconsin Sports-- University of Wisconsin defensive end David Gilbert hopes to return in time for the game at Ohio State on October 29th.
MADISON - University of Wisconsin defensive end David Gilbert hopes to return in time for the game at Ohio State on October 29th.
Gilbert, a junior, had surgery two weeks ago to repair a broken bone in his right foot suffered during a drill at practice on September 27th. He called it a freak accident. The fourth-ranked Badgers will try to stay unbeaten on Saturday, when they host 1-5 Indiana.

Tony Faller of Lakeland College in Sheboygan made the national small college Team-of-the-Week from D3football.com. Faller, a senior safety, had two tackles for losses including an 18-yard sack against Rockford. He also had an interception, three pass break-ups, and a blocked punt.

The Marquette University men’s soccer team edged 12th-ranked Notre Dame 1-0 last night in Milwaukee. Sebastian Janssen scored the game’s only goal in the 16th minute. David Check had seven saves for the Golden Eagles, are who now 4-0 in the Big East and 6-5-2 overall.
