Twins name their 2011 Minor League Players of the Year
Minnesota Sports-- The Minnesota Twins named infielder Brian Dozier the 2011 Minor League Player of the Year and right-hander Liam Hendricks Minor League Pitcher of the Year.
MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnesota Twins named infielder Brian Dozier the 2011 Minor League Player of the Year and right-hander Liam Hendricks Minor League Pitcher of the Year.
Twenty-four-year-old Dozier batted .320 with nine home runs, 33 doubles, 12 triples and 56 RBIs in a combined 127 games for the Class A Miracle and AA Rock Cats. The Twins drafted Dozier in the eighth round of the 2009 draft out of Southern Mississippi.
Hendricks went eight-and-two for the Rock Cats and 4-4 with the AAA Red Wings. The 22-year-old was called up by the Twins in September and had an 0-2 record with a six-point-one-seven ERA in four big league starts. Hendriks was signed in 2007 as an undrafted free agent from Sacred Heart College in Australia.
