Spring Valley gets seed for playoffs, Ellsworth and Elmwood on road

Spring Valley High School's football team picked up the No. 4 seed in their bracket of the WIAA football playoffs in Division 6. The Pairings were released Monday evening.
After a long delay due to a lawsuit and court hearing Monday afternoon, a temporary injunction released the playoff brackets for Divisions 3-7.
Spring Valley receives the No. 4 seed in Division 6. The seeds allows them to host or be the home against Shell Lake in Level 1. The Lakers are 6-2 overall while Spring Valley is 7-2.
Meanwhile, Pierce County's other two playoff teams will play Level 1 games on the road.
Ellsworth, 5-4 overall, will take on No. 2 seeded West Salem. The Panthers are 6-3 but finished as co-champions of the Coulee Conference.
The last time the two teams squared off was in the playoffs back in 2006 where West Salem eliminated Ellsworth 22-16 in a Level 3 contest.
Elmwood is taking on No. 2 seeded Greenwood-Granton. The Indians are ranked No. 4 in the state in Division 7 and are 8-1 overall, finishing second in the Cloverwood Conference.
Final times, dates and locations of playoff games will be made throughout the week.
