Top prep gridiron teams in area clash as Somerset takes on SCC

The Somerset-St. Croix Central football clash in Level 3 of the WIAA playoffs will be held this Friday at 7 p.m. at Somerset’s Seibel Field.
The undefeated St. Croix Central team advanced to Friday’s game by defeating Durand 30-22 on Saturday. Somerset improved to 10-1 with its 34-8 win at Spooner on Saturday.
Tickets will be pre-sold at St. Croix Central High School. Ticket pre-sales at Central will close at 1 p.m. on Friday.
Somerset will pre-sell tickets as well. Tickets will be available from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the high school athletics office.
The Spartans are the champions of the Middle Border Conference while the Panthetrs won the Dunn-St. Croix. It's been several years since the two teams last met on the football field after Somerset left the D-SC to join the MBC in 2002.
