Elderly man dies in house fire in Barron County
Western Wisconsin News-- Authorities in northwest Wisconsin are investigating a fire that killed an elderly man at his rural home in Barron County.
BARRON - Authorities in northwest Wisconsin are investigating a fire that killed an elderly man at his rural home in Barron County.
Sheriff’s deputies said the man was believed to be 89-year-old Franklin Quick, but officials were still trying to confirm the man’s identity at last word. The cause of the blaze is also not known – but deputies said it did not appear to be suspicious.
The home is located in the Barron County town of Sumner. It was engulfed in flames when police and fire-fighters arrived. Fire-fighters spent six hours battling the blaze, and the structure was considered a total loss.
