Gopher spikers hosting first two rounds of NCAA tournament
Minnesota Sports-- The University of Minnesota volleyball team is hosting the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament this Friday and Saturday. The Golden Gophers will face North Dakota State Friday night at the U of M Sports Pavilion at 7:30 p.m.
MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota volleyball team is hosting the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament this Friday and Saturday. The Golden Gophers will face North Dakota State Friday night at the U of M Sports Pavilion at 7:30 p.m.
This is the third time in four years that Minnesota has hosted the Bison. Washington and Western Michigan are scheduled to play the first match on Friday afternoon.
The winners of the first two matches will play each other on Saturday evening. The U of M campus is also the site of the NCAA Semifinals and Regional Final December 9th and 10th.

Two University of Minnesota sophomore volleyball players have been named all-Big Ten. Ashley Wittman of Shakopee was a unanimous selection, while teammate Tori Dixon of Burnsville also made the honor squad. The Golden Gophers finished the regular season with a 17-11 record and earned the No. 13 overall seed in the 64-team NCAA Tournament.
