MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's basketball team dominated from start-to-finish last night in a 96-35 home victory over New Orleans. Coach Terri Mitchell earned her 300th career victory in her 16th season with the Golden Eagles.

She's now 300-174 at Marquette. The Eagles scored the game's first 12 points, holding New Orleans without a point for the first six minutes. Marquette led 48-14 at the half. Their 61-point victory margin broke the old school record of 56 in 1993. Marquette had 33 second-chance points to none for the Privateers, as the Eagles had a 55-17 rebounding edge. Apiew Ojulu led Marquette with 21 points and 14 boards. New Orleans fell to 0-7. Marquette is now 4-3, and will play at 23rd-ranked UW-Green Bay on Friday night.

The University of Wisconsin women's basketball team will host Boston College tonight at the Kohl Center in their Big Ten-ACC Challenge. The tip-off is at 7 p.m., an hour-and-a-half before the Badger men start playing North Carolina in their Challenge at Chapel Hill. Unlike the undefeated men, the Wisconsin women have gotten off to a rough start under first-year coach Bobbie Kelsey. The Badgers are 2-5, after a 10-point loss to Colorado at a tournament in Boulder last Saturday night. Wisconsin committed 13 turnovers in that game. The Badgers have improved their ball control after averaging 23 turnovers in their first three contests. Taylor Wurtz has four double-doubles for the Badgers this season, and she scored a season-high 26 points last Friday night in a win over Montana State. Their opponent tonight, Boston College, is at 2-2.

Two men's-and-women's double-headers are on the docket -- Viterbo at Martin Luther, and Northwestern College of Minnesota at UW-Superior. In the NAC, the Wisconsin Lutheran women host Alverno. Milwaukee Engineering plays at Benedictine. And Marian hosts Concordia-Mequon. Elsewhere, Carthage entertains Clarke College.
