Young boy kiilled in traffic accident near Hixton

HIXTON - Wisconsin's heavy wet snow during the weekend was blamed for at least one traffic death. Eight-year-old Jake Brown of Blair was killed in a vehicle driven by his father Justin.
Jackson County sheriff's deputies said the vehicle lost control and slammed into another vehicle on a slippery County Trunk "A" near Hixton. Justin Brown was treated and later released from a hospital in Black River Falls, where his son was pronounced dead. Relatives said they were on their way to a Christmas parade in Black River Falls on Saturday when the mishap occurred.
Parts of west central and northern Wisconsin received 5-to-7 inches of snow during the weekend.
