Timberwolves announce coaching staff
Minnesota Sports-- Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Rick Adelman will have a veteran staff on the bench next to him this season. The team announced the assistant coaches and administrative personnel for the upcoming season.
MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Rick Adelman will have a veteran staff on the bench next to him this season. The team announced the assistant coaches and administrative personnel for the upcoming season.
Former Bucks and Suns head coach Terry Porter will be the top assistant to Adelman, reuniting the former NBA guard with the man he played for in Portland in the early 1990s. Porter played in Minnesota from 1995-98.
Jack Sikma, a former NBA all-star will also be on staff, as will T.R. Dunn, who has been with Adelman for several years. Former UNLV head coach Billy Bayno, a long-time NBA assistant will also serve as an assistant coach. R.J. and David Adelman, sons of Rick Adelman, will be part of the front office. Former player Shawn Respert and Pat Zipfel will also assist with scouting and player development.

The Timberwolves will get a short warmup before beginning the NBA season. Minnesota will take on the Milwaukee Bucks twice in exhibition games prior to the shortened 66-game schedule. The Wolves will host the Bucks on December 17th at Target Center and travel to the Bradley Center in Milwaukee on December 21st. Both games will tip off at 7 p.m. and tickets for the home contest are on sale at the team's webpage. The entire regular season schedule will be released tomorrow.
