MADISON - The University of Wisconsin-Madison men's basketball team crushed UW-Green Bay last night, 70-42 at the Kohl Center.
The Badgers took control with a 14-1 run in the first half. They then scored the first eight points of the second half to go up by 20. Jordan Taylor had 15 points and 10 assists without committing a turnover. That was after he turned the ball over five times in a loss to Marquette last Saturday. That was an aberration for Taylor, who's on pace to set an NCAA career record with a turnover ratio of three-and-a-quarter to one.
Ryan Evans scored 14 and Jared Berggren 13 for the Badgers. They combined to shoot 11-of-16 from the floor, as Wisconsin had a season-high 36 points in the paint. Center Alec Brown led Green Bay with 10 points. The Phoenix tied a season-low in points. They also had 42 in a loss to Virginia the night after Thanksgiving. Green Bay dropped to 4-5 on the year, and they're now 1-17 lifetime against the Badgers. 14th-ranked Wisconsin improved to 7-2.
The Badgers will host Nevada-Las Vegas on Saturday. Green Bay is at Marquette on Saturday.
