Employees of Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services (PPCS) are making Christmas merry for two families through the Pierce County Gift Box Program.

Participating employees chose ornaments from the “Gift Box tree,” with each ornament listing a gift item for individual family members. Gifts were wrapped, labeled and delivered to the Crossroad Community Church, Ellsworth, administering the program.

PPCS, through its Operation Round Up program, also made a cash donation of $3,000 to benefit the Gift Box program. Operation Round Up is a community service program funded by PPCS members who volunteer to round up their monthly energy bills to the next dollar.

“As your local electric cooperative, our commitment goes beyond providing electrical service and keeping the lights on. Pierce Pepin employees and members are dedicated to efforts that strengthen our communities and help those less fortunate, especially during these tough economic times,” said Larry Dokkestul, Pierce Pepin President and CEO.

This is the third year the Pierce County Gift Box program has benefitted from the generosity of PPCS employees and member contributions through Operation Round Up.
