NEW RICHMOND - Some early three-pointers by New Richmond buried the Ellsworth boys basketball team Tuesday in a 52-43 loss in Ellsworth.
New Richmond (3-1 overall, 1-0 in the Middle Border Conference) opened the game by making three of its first four three-pointers and that helped set the tone for the rest of the game.
Ellsworth (1-2, 0-1 Middle Border Conference) threatened late and closed the lead to five, but never got closer.
Elijah Kelley scored 16 points and Dalton Fabby added 12 for New Richmond
Jacob Betthauser led the Panthers with 12 points and nine rebounds. Lamoine Steffen added 10 points.
Ellsworth plays at Amery Friday.
