Western Wisconsin News-- An off-duty accident has taken the life of a deputy with the Washburn County sheriff’s department.
SPOONER - An off-duty accident has taken the life of a deputy with the Washburn County sheriff’s department.
Broadcast reports indicate the fatal accident took place Friday morning in Stone Lake Township.
Sheriff’s officials say 61 year old Gerald McAllister was driving a tractor on a snow-covered hill at about 10:30 a.m. when it slid down the hill and turned over. McAllister died of his injuries.
