BATON ROUGE, La. - The Marquette University men's basketball team was upset at LSU last night, 67-59. The 10th-ranked Golden Eagles were trying to go 11-0 for the first time in 39 years.

But the unranked Tigers clawed back from an early 13-0. LSU took its first lead late in the opening half, and was up by three at the break. Marquette had an 8-0 run early in the second half to lead by one. The Eagles were still up by one with 3:22 to go, but Ralston Turner hit a three-pointer to put LSU in front for good. Marquette would not get another basket until 30 seconds were left, and LSU made five-of-six free throws down the stretch to seal its fifth straight win.

Marquette came into the game averaging 50-percent from the floor, but they only managed to hit 36-percent along a strong Tiger defense up front. Turner finished with 22 points, as LSU improved to 8-3. Jae Crowder led Marquette with 22 points and nine rebounds. The Eagles are now 10-1, and will host UW-Milwaukee on Thursday night.
