WASHINGTON D.C. - Kevin Love posted 20 points and 16 rebounds for his eighth straight double-double to start the season as the Timberwolves toppled the Wizards, 93-72.

Ricky Rubio provided 13 points and 14 assists for Minnesota, which improved to 3-5. Derrick Williams recorded 14 points and seven rebounds in the win. Trevor Booker and Nick Young paced the Wizards with 14 points apiece. John Wall chipped in with 10 points, six assists, and five boards for Washington, which remains winless at 0-8.

The Purdue Boilermakers rode a hot-shooting first half and beat Minnesota 79-66 at Williams Arena yesterday. Purdue was 10-for-12 from behind the three-point line in the first half to grab a 47-32 lead at the break. Minnesota outscored Purdue by two points in the second. Boilermaker point guard Lewis Jackson scored 20 points to lead the winning team. Golden Gopher forward Rodney Williams scored a career high 19 points and a grabbed a career high 14 rebounds in the loss. The Gophers are now 12-5 overall and 0-4 in the Big Ten. Purdue moved its mark to 13-4 overall and 3-1 in the league. Minnesota is at Indiana on Thursday.
