McKune scores 39 as Elmwood upends Boyceville 63-55
Elmwood defeated Boyceville in girls high school basketball for the first time since 2007 Tuesday.
BOYCEVILLE - Elmwood defeated Boyceville in girls high school basketball for the first time since 2007 Tuesday 63-55.
Christina McKune pumped in 39 points in a career-high. She shot 14 free-throws in the final quarter alone, making 13 of them. She was 16-of-19 for the game and had three three-pointers.
McKune scored 27 points in the second half to help the Raiders break a 26-26 tie at halftime.
No one else for Elmwood was in double figures. McKayla Brunner and Ally Pax both finished seven points and Janessa VandenBerge scored five points.
Not only was this EHS first win over the Bulldogs in five years it was also its first Dunn-St. Croix victory of the season. Elmwood is still 1-4 in the league but 6-5 overall. They host Spring Valley Thursday.
