SV-Elmwood back on mat with 44-22 win over GC
After a two-week layoff, the Spring Valley-Elmwood wrestling team was back on the mat Thursday hosting Glenwood City. The No. 3 ranked Redbirds defeated the No. 7 Hilltoppers 44-22.
SPRING VALLEY - After a two-week layoff, the Spring Valley/Elmwood wrestling team was back on the mat Thursday hosting Glenwood City. The No. 3 ranked Redbirds defeated the No. 7 Hilltoppers 44-22.
After trailing 7-3 early on, SV-Elmwood scored keys wins from Brian Fesenmaier in a 3:25 pinfall at 170 pounds, Steve Von Haden in a 15-3 major decision at 182, Andy Bune with a pinfall at 195 a forfeit for Tyler Hunter at 220 and a pin for David Walker at 106 in 3:01 after he had trailed 8-4 midway through the second period.
Also winning for SVE were Brady Webb by pinfall at 120, Tyler Berg by major decision at 126, Zach Newton by a 6-0 decision at 132 and Trent Miller at 152.
The Redbirds are in action this weekend at the Chipppewa Falls Invitational.
