AMERY - A 33-year-old man has been sentenced to four years in prison and nine months in a county jail for pulling a knife on a grocery store employee in northwest Wisconsin.
Matthew Hoff Jr. of Amery must also serve 20 years of probation and four years of extended supervision once he’s no longer behind bars.
A jury convicted Hoff in November of armed robbery, reckless endangerment, and obstructing an officer. Prosecutors said he stole $500 in groceries from Dick’s Fresh Market in Amery in 2010 – and when an employee confronted him, Hoff pulled a knife on him and pushed a police officer who responded.
