OSCEOLA - Ellsworth High School's girls' basketball team had the lead for much of their contest at Osceola Tuesday. But the Cheiftains came back to win 51-46 to keep the Panthers winless in Middle Border Conference action.

Tacia Kuhl had a season-high 15 points and Lydia Kuhl finished with 13 points while Halle Hatch scored seven points. Hatch led the team with five rebounds and four assists while Lydia Kuhl made four steals.

Ellsworth got more bad news as it was learned senior center Abbey Ristow tore her ACL and will be out for the rest of the season and the spring season as well. She finished second in the state in the discus in 2011.

This was only game for the Panthers this week. They'll be back in action next Tuesday at Baldwin-Woodville.
