DURAND - Prosecutors say a western Wisconsin woman punched-and-kicked a pregnant teen over personal comments made on Facebook.
21-year-old Alissa Coombs of Arcadia is due in Pepin County Circuit Court February seventh on charges of battery and beating an unborn child. Both are misdemeanors. According to prosecutors, Coombs and two others drove to the victim’s mobile home in Durand on December 15th – and they argued before Coombs punched the pregnant 17-year-old, threw her to the ground, and kicked her close to the stomach.
Authorities said 26-year-old Joey Apodaca of Arcadia then got out Coombs’s car and used vulgar language toward the pregnant girl and another woman. She’s charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct. The third person in the car, 17-year-old Angelina Gore of Strum, was charged with having an illegal concealed weapon after police stopped their vehicle in Durand. Apodaca and Gore are also due in Pepin County Court on February seventh.
