MADISON - The University of Wisconsin men’s basketball team went above .500 in Big Ten play last night with a 77-57 home rout of Northwestern.

The Badgers shot 50-percent on the night, and they were especially hot from three-point range as they hit 12-of-23 from beyond-the-arc. Wisconsin led by two at the half. They made four three-pointers in the first five minutes of the second half to go up by 12, and they never looked back. The Wildcats' lack of depth forced them to play a 1-3-1 zone midway through the second half that UW exploited with deadly accuracy.

Ryan Evans led the Badgers with 17 points and nine rebounds. Jordan Taylor hit four-of-six from three-point range. He ended with 15 points and six assists. John Shurna scored 19 for Northwestern, which was out-rebounded 31-to-22.

The Wildcats dropped to 2-4 in the Big Ten, and 12-6 overall. Wisconsin improved to 4-3 in conference play and 15-5 overall and the Badgers are on a three-game winning streak. They’ll play at first-place Illinois on Sunday.
