LA QUINTA, Calf. - The PGA golf tour makes its 2012 debut on the U.S. mainland today, with the Humana Challenge in La Quinta, California.
Jerry Kelly of Madison and Pewaukee native Mark Wilson are part of the field. Both were scheduled to begin their first rounds during the 11 o’clock hour this morning.
Steve Stricker of Madison is spending a month away from the Tour as he continues to treat the arm and neck pain that has bothered him since last September. Meanwhile, Stricker is one of four players who have been named to the PGA Tour’s Policy Board for this year. And Wilson is one of 16 golfers on the PGA’s Player Advisory Council, which gives advice to the Board and Commissioner Tim Finchem on issues dealing with the Tour.
