The Green Bay Packers won’t be hosting the annual “Fan Fest” this year. Posted on the website Packers.com, a message says the event will be evaluated for the future. The team says Fan Fest will be examined, programming elements checked and fan feedback accepted and analyzed. The Packers say they have enjoyed hosting the event for six years and appreciate the interest and support of the thousands of fans who attended those gatherings.

It’s a definite green-and-gold flavor to the new coaching staff for the Miami Dolphins. Former Green Bay Packer offensive coordinator Joe Philbin has hired former Packer head coach Mike Sherman to run his offense in Miami. Sherman had hired Philbin in Green Bay, giving him his first NFL coaching position. For that matter, Sherman was actually Philbin’s high school English teacher. As he was hiring his long-time friend Sherman, Philbin also added Kevin Coyle as the Dolphins’ new defensive coordinator. Coyle comes to Miami from Cincinnati, while Sherman most recently coached at Texas A&M.
