Hoyer breaks arm at Winter X Games competition

Ellsworth's Justin Hoyer came within inches of sticking the first-ever double flip on a snowmobile at the Winter X Games Sunday. Instead his sled flipped over and crashed on Hoyer and broke his arm in the process.

ASPEN, Col. - Ellsworth's Justin Hoyer came within inches of sticking the first-ever double flip on a snowmobile at the Winter X Games Sunday. Instead his sled landed nose-first and crashed on Hoyer and broke his arm in the process.

Hoyer tried the move in order to win the Best Trick Competition at the Winter X Games Sunday evening. He he had landed it in practice at his home was eager do this in a competition for the first-time ever. The move came on his first run in the event

But instead of the gold medal he would have won Hoyer had to be taken from the event site in Aspen on a stretcher.

Heath Frisby of Middleton, Idaho won the gold executing the first frontflip of a snowmobile.
