Poor free-throw shooting sinks PC vs. Bulldogs

PLUM CITY - The Plum City girls basketball team lost a defensive battle to Boyceville 46-36 Monday in Plum City.

Sophomore Elaina Danzinger scored nine points to lead the Blue Devils (4-7, 4-6 Dunn-St. Croix). Junior Marah Boyer added eight points.

Cansis Bodsberg led Boyceville with 12 points and Krista Bodsberg finished with nine points.

Plum City struggled from the free-throw line in the first half, making just 1 of 8 attempts. The Devils scored four points in the first quarter and trailed 20-13 at halftime. The Boyceville lead never got more than around 11 points but it 42-36 was the closest Plum City got in the second half, Blue Devils head coach John Pollock said.

“Just a pretty hard-fought game by both teams,” he said.

Plum City faces Elmwood Thursday in Elmwood.
