Elmwood girls slip past Elk Mound 36-35

Elmwood High school's girls basketball team broke another long losing streak against an opponent when they downed Elk Mound Monday evening for the first time since 2008 by 36-35 score.

ELMWOOD - Elmwood High school's girls basketball team broke another long losing streak against an opponent when they downed Elk Mound Monday evening for the first time since 2008 by 36-35 score.

The Raiders were actually held to just 12 points for the enitre second half but it proved to be enough for the win after leading 24-17 at halftime. EM had two players with 12 points in Josie Hayes and Kaysi Meindel but only four players scored for the Mounders while EHS had more balance with six players scoring at least a basket led by 10 points each for Ally Pax and Janessa VandenBerge.

EHS wins its 10th ballgame, the first time the program has reach this mark since 2006. The Raiders play Plum City at Elmwood Thursday which marks the return of former head coach and current PC head coach John Pollock to Elmwood.
