A 42-year-old Hudson woman was arrested Friday, April 22 on suspicion of theft from another school parent group.
According to the Hudson Police Department and the St. Croix County Jail log, Brenda Lutovsky, 1906 Stone Creek, was released after being arrested and booked on a theft from the Hudson Middle School Parent Advisory Council. She is accused of stealing in excess of $16,000 from the group. According to police, more than $12,000 has been repaid but $3,800 is still outstanding.
She faces a second charge involving the fraudulent use of a credit card from a Hudson business. The amount alleged in that theft is $8,000.
The HMS parent group and the Hudson business owner independently became suspicious of Lutovsky and cooperated with Hudson police on the investigation.
Police have concluded their investigation of another Hudson woman suspected in a similar theft from the Willow River Elementary Parents Group. No arrest has been made in that case, but it has been referred to the St. Croix County District Attorney’s office for charging.
