PRESCOTT – WESTconsin Credit Union was named Prescott Chamber of Commerce’s Business of the Year during its 33rd annual dinner Tuesday night at the Valley Bar and Grill.

Other awards include Steve Peterson, High School Guidance Counselor, named Citizen of the Year, outgoing Chamber President Phil Helgeson receiving Chamber Member of the Year, Great River Road Visitor Center claiming Organization of the Year, David Schmidt taking Ambassador of the Year and the volunteers who hung flower baskets along Broad Street receiving a special recognition award.

Helgeson talked about the Chamber’s highlights in 2011, including the annual dinner, Memorial Day Chicken Feed, Poker Stroll and Prescott Daze. The Chamber is presently at 118 members.

Char Magee was named 2012 President, while Julie Moe is Vice President. Ron Murphy is Secretary while Rashel Bowes remains Treasurer. There was no personnel change among the Board of Directors for 2012.

Denise Krech won the evening’s marquee prize – a 40’’ television – donated by Cernohous Chevrolet and First National Bank.
