-- The Wisconsin women’s hockey team can clinch the WCHA regular season title this weekend.

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin women’s hockey team can clinch the WCHA regular season title this weekend.

The top ranked Badgers will need to sweep their two game series at Saint Cloud State tonight and tomorrow afternoon, which second place Minnesota loses at least once during the weekend. Wisconsin has 63 points, six more than the Gophers. The regular season ends next weekend. The Badgers are 26-2-2 overall, and they’ll face a Saint Cloud team that’s 5-23-2.

Wisconsin goal tender Alex Rigsby broke the Badgers’ season record for saves last weekend. She now has 805 saves in 30 games, four more than Jessie Vetter’s old mark set in 2009. Meanwhile, the Wisconsin men’s hockey team is off this weekend. They’ll host Denver next weekend.
