Big win for U women's hockey team, big loss for men
Minnesota Sports-- The University of Minnesota women's hockey team shutout Ohio State 5-0 while men were downed by Denver 5-3 Friday evening.

The Golden Gopher women kept pace with Wisconsin in the WCHA standings as Jen Schoullis and Anne Schleper both had a goal and an assist for the U squad in Columbus, Ohio. Minnesota's Rachel Ramsey finished with two assists and teammate Noora Raty had 25 saves.
Minnesota's men's team gave up three straight first period goals in Denver to trail 3-1. They cut the lead to 3-2 after Kyle Rau's early second period goal on a 4-on-3 power play but the Pioneers scored the eventual game-winner shortly thereafter by Jason Zucker, also on a power play.
Zach Budish had a goal and an assist for the U while Nick Bjugstad had two assists. Gopher goalie Kent Patterson made 29 saves.
