U women's hoops upset No. 16 Nebraska

MINNEAPOLIS -- The University of Minnesota women's basketball team upset No. 16 Nebraska at Williams Arena last night, 64-58.

The Golden Gophers received 21 points from freshman point guard Rachel Banham of Lakeville, while St. Paul native Kiara Buford added 16 points.

Minnesota led by three points at half, but scored the first 11 points of the second half to take a 14-point advantage. Nebraska rallied to tie the game at 58-58, but the Gophers scored the game's final six points to close out the win.

Minnesota is now 13-14 overall and 5-8 in the Big Ten. The Cornhuskers dip to 19-5 overall; 8-4 in the league. Next up for the Gophers is a Thursday home game against Illinois.
